This Week…Appreciating Bagpipes
Years ago, on one of our early morning beach walks, I heard something that has always been music to my ears.
The bagpipes sound exactly the same when you have finished as when you started.

Tomorrow is Bagpipe Appreciation Day. I could not let this pass without sharing some bagpipe music!
I have always loved the sound of bagpipes. Call me crazy, but I can’t pass up a parade as long as there are pipers!
The Irish gave the bagpipes to the Scots as a joke, but the Scots haven't seen the joke yet.

Larry and I headed towards the bagpipe music and discovered a lone piper at the ocean’s edge, welcoming in the sunrise. He was visiting his parents in Delray and chose to practice on the beach so as not to disturb his parents’ neighbors.
These are bagpipes. I understand the inventor of the bagpipes was inspired when he saw a man carrying an indignant, asthmatic pig under his arm. Unfortunately, the man-made sound never equalled the purity of the sound achieved by the pig.
