What's next?

Mayfair Hotel is changing hands.  Here are a few of the old pictures and one made today!  It is almost 100 years old!

I put this view on a blog a few years ago. 2009 I believe it was.  Pull up that blog and see the pictures and read an interesting story about one of its original owners.

And possibly this is the original look in the picture above.  Fancy, fancy, and the vehicles reveal the age.  No, I don't know what age they were.  But some Searcy Sleuth will tell us.  BTW, that historic street light is still on the corner!!

And this one was taken today, July 30, 2025!  It still looks pretty impressive and I hope it continues to be impressive.  Wonder what the new look might be?  Stay tuned in and tell us your Mayfair history!

I don't have anything to add beyond what I did in previous posts. I will have to say that living downtown in a apartment in the old Mayfair would be a hoot!

Reminds me of when I lived downtown when I was 7 years old in a rental house across from the Methodist Church. There's a Security Bank parking lot there now.

I could dumpster dive behind stores, walk to the Rialto by myself and go play in Spring Park when I wanted. It was one of my fondest Searcy memories.

Sounds as if you had a great life downtown as a youngster.  That was helped by parents who let you do that without worrying about you!  Those times are gone, I guess.  We need to find new homes for the tenants.

I just saw your post today about the tenants moving out and new ownership. We all hope the building will remain intact but who knows. That's a valuable property and someone my have grandiose ideas for a commercial building.
