Motivational Monday…Encouragement
We never know when a friendly smile, a thumbs up, or a pat on the shoulder will be exactly what someone needs. The same is true of a
kind word.
Years ago, I began working out at a local gym. It wasn’t as if I’d never exercised, but not like this. After working out with weights (which I love), I tried a recumbent bike.
It was not a pretty sight. After adjusting the seat and tension, etc, I started slowly huffing and puffing. A gentleman to my left (who by the way could have been a linebacker) chuckled and said…
"Start small. Tomorrow, add 5 minutes to your time, then 5 more the next day! You can do it!!!"
He may not have realized it, but those words motivated me to keep trying. I added 5 minutes the next day and jumped ahead to riding over an hour without thinking about it.

How many times in a day are we presented with the opportunity to inspire or encourage someone? We don’t have to know them…just a smile or thumbs up is helpful.
Correction does much, but encouragement does more.
