The latest Android Security Bulletin will update your products on Android system. The August updates are available for Android 13, 14, 15, and 16.
From the Security Bulletin dated August 4, 2025:
The Android Security Bulletin contains details of security vulnerabilities affecting Android devices. Security patch levels of 2025-08-05 or later address all of these issues.
To learn how to check a device's security patch level, see Check and update your Android version.
The most severe of these issues is a critical security vulnerability in the System component that could lead to remote code execution in combination with other bugs, with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. The severity assessment is based on the effect that exploiting the vulnerability would possibly have on an affected device, assuming the platform and service mitigations are turned off for development purposes or if successfully bypassed.*
How do you know if you need the update?
Step 1:
Go to SETTINGS on your cell phone. Click on "Security and privacy". If your device needs an Update, the offer to Update appears.
Step 2:
Click on the Update button and it begins. CAUTION: Be sure your device is charged adequately. And remember - roaming charges will apply.
Step 3:
Be patient. The Update can take a while to Download. This one is 1.29 GB. Then the process will take another bit of time to Install on your device. Perhaps read about the Update as you wait...
Step 4:
Restart your device and enjoy the higher security and any new features. If you want even more information: Go to g.co/pixel/community.
