Sandpoint Realty 'Friday Flag' - September 5, 2025

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Sandpoint Realty LLC DB36113

Sandpoint Realty 'Friday Flag' unfortunately showing off a yearly happening in North Idaho.

This photo of Ole Glory does not come close to depicting how thick and heavy the smoke is in North Idaho currently.  As you can see though, not a wisp of wind, and our Stars & Stripes seem to be weighted down with nothing more than the heavy fog like smoke in the air.

Thank you Turner Plumbing for proudly flying our USA Flag no matter the circumstances.

We have multiple fires burning in Idaho, as well as neighboring states.  The recent Sagle Idaho fire was caused by a burn pile being lit.  That in and of itself questionable right now but it was left unattended.  8 to 10 buildings lost, at least 3 of which were homes, and over 3,300 acres of pristine wilderness bordering Lake Pend Oreille.

The guilty party is being charged and responsible for paying all expenses related to the fire.  Common sense sometimes seems to be completely ignored as in this case.  Middle of summer, 90 plus degree temps, and extremely dry conditions.

Hello, Mark. I can certainly relate to this post. We often face similar conditions with wildfires here in Big Bear. It's a sobering reminder of the importance of fire safety. Thank you for sharing this message and the great photo. It is an important and timely community post.

Mark- what a shame- I'm glad that the person is being charged as well as being held responsible all financial damages however some things cannot be replaced that easily.

Good morning, Mark... I hate hearing about fire situations like this and I'm happy to hear that the perpetrator(s) are being punished to the fullest extent of the law.

It's good to hear that the responsible party is being held accountable.  Fires cause a lot of damage.

Hi Mark:

That photo is a sad reminder of the fires that are burning in your area. So sorry to hear, but hopefully there is an positive end in sight.
