Just starting to blog and need to find ideas for posts? Once you know where to look, you'll soon discover that there's no shortage of potential topics! What you might find a challenge once you're tuned in is finding the time to explore all the potential posts, so you may need to prioritize to match the purpose of your blog.
In no particular order, here we go!
1. Right here in the Rain. Take a look at the blog roll and the Q&A section. What resonates with you and what works for YOUR market? Adapt, don't copy.
2. Your clients. They ask questions, and what they want to know, others want to know too.
3. Other agents. They do stuff, both good and bad.
4. What's your market like? Market reports are great for staying tuned in to market trends.
5. Facebook & other social media Local groups, real estate groups, etc., can all provide ideas.
6. Radio shows. A comment by a talking head may be the spark for an idea.
7. New construction news. Incentives? New communities? Prime stuff that consumers want to know.
8. Your pictures. Sometimes it's not real estate, everyone loves pets, right?
9. A walk in your yard. Nature provides plenty of ideas. Gardens, bees, butterflies, all can be idea providers.
10. Local newspapers. Digital or paper, they still have tidbits that can be helpful.
11. Daily events. Examples of customer service can be turned to real estate readily.
12. Your preferred lenders. What's the latest on rates? Loan products?
13. Your listings. Announcements: just listed, pending, sold, open houses, etc.
14. Reviews. Nothing speaks louder than the recommendations of your clients.
15. Government & School announcements. Changes to taxes? Levy news?
16. Real estate taxes. Special programs to reduce taxes? e.g. homestead exemptions?
17. Local events, places, etc. Festivals, amusement parks, Christmas tree farms, etc.
18. Local businesses. Got a favorite restaurant, shop or plant nursery? Putting out the word may get you some brownie points with them too!
19. Tip lists. How to prep your home for sale, how to improve your odds of winning in multiple offers, etc.
20. Real estate terms. What's earnest money? Whole house inspections?
21. Your home inspectors. Stories from inspections, services offered, etc.
22. Custom home searches tied to IDX.
23. Niche housing information. Word for word the most powerful posts for generating business IMO.
24. Pet Peeve/rant topics. Can't say I'd overuse this source, but we're operating in a target rich industry.
25. Staging tips. What's a must do vs. a nice to do vs. a don't waste your money?
We're just scratching the surface. It is possible (maybe not easy, but possible) to blog high quality content daily if you make it a priority.
What are your favorite sources for post ideas?
