Seeking Safety From The Storm

If memory serves me correctly the fear of loud noises is  the only natural fear God gave us from birth. Some say the fear of falling is also natural but I am not so sure of that. Most of our fears are learned and external.

Here are a few quotes on fear.

How true? Fear limits so many great possibilities.

I have a 70 year history of "doing it afraid".

This is my favorite because it reminds me of so many Bible quotes. In many instances of angels appearing to men the angels greeting is "Fear Not". Why is this? Aren't all angles pudgy little characters shooting arrows of love? NO! The angels of the Bible (when not appearing as men) are huge warriors dressed for battle. Chances are if we were to encounter one in their natural state we would wet ourselves trembling in fear.

Back to that first quote (Abraham Maslow). I am going to do my best to choose growth over fear today and every day there after.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts?
