Journaling - How Well Do You Know Your Own House?

If something happened and you were far away, would you be able to remember everything you owned? Could you write in details all the things you own, or is it possible you would miss important information?
We believe we know everything about our home, but is that true? Depending on how long you lived there, how much do you really remember? Would you make mistakes, forget things, or could you accurately remember everything, down to the smallest details?
Home has always been our sanctuary, but if you had to recreate your entire house to included everything you own, could you do it? What if time was not on your side and you needed to provide information quickly? Maybe you live alone and there is no one else to answer questions about what you have?
More importantly, if a loved one had to take charge of your possessions, would they find a manual or a binder or something in the cloud that maps out precisely what you own including clear instructions of everything that is important for them to know?
THE CHALLENGE
Try to take one room at a time. Leave the house. Drawing from memory, go to a separate location without any video equipment, computer records, or photographs. How close would you get to being accurate about what you own? Do you know exactly how many cabinets, drawers, dishes, appliances, clothes, furniture, books, and other valuables you really own? And of course, you would not be able to use surveillance cameras, FaceTime, telephone, or Zoom with anyone else. The question is, do you really know everything you need to know about your house, or would you fail to remember?
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Stuff happens. You could have a house fire. A tornado or hurricane ripped through your house. Someone broke in and the police need to know what was in your house. Perhaps you have a memory lapse, a stroke, or something else? What if you have dementia or Alzheimer's Disease and you don't even know it.
Sadly, if you don't know and you fail the challenge test, what makes you think anyone else would know everything that is needed to know, about your house and possessions.
