As a man who is follically challenged (bald) I wouldn't know much about the subject. I do know that when Baby (my dog) gets wet she smells but as she dries the smell also disappears.

I have written more than my share of posts dealing with pet odors and what a turn off they are when one is selling their home. But they are more than a turn off. Often pet odors, and odors in general, are a deal killer when it comes to selling a home.
My decades of experience in Real Estate sales tells me the typical response from a pet owner selling their home "is it's not that bad". The truth is that if someone enters your home and they smell a pet IT IS A BIG DEAL and it is going to cost you a potential Buyer who will not be coming back.
Food odors can also be a big thing. One of the hardest homes to sell that I had listed was a home that many of their meals fried. The scent nearly knocked me out when I opened the door. It was a beautiful home in the $500,000 range but it did not sell until a buyer of the same ethnicity purchased it who did not mind (or actually liked) the smell of fried foods.
