Hostfest 2025, The Largest Scandinavian Festival in the Americas

The Norsk Hostfest is the second largest event held in North Dakota. The largest is the North Dakota State Fair. Both are held in Minot and they are held just two months apart.

The Norsk Hostfest is the largest Scandinavian festival held in America. Just like everyone is Irish on Saint Patrick's Day everyone is Scandinavian during the week of the Norsk Hostfest.

Everytime I blog about this people say: "Maybe Next Year". Well if this is your year to attend I hope you let me know so I can see you there.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. I love the State Fair Katina but I had to miss this year due to a fractured ankle... first time I've missed in 25 years. I have attended many Hostfests in the past but to get in free one must volunteer to work there for a 4 hour shift and I just can not handle 4 hours standing on cement anymore. To pay for the event I would want to spend all day there and that would not be easy for me either.

Thank you Dennis Neal . The Hostfest is a fun event to attend and one does NOT have to take in the "pay for" shows to have a good time. Many quality acts are available as free shows as well.

I probably will not make it to the Hostfest this years either Nina Hollander, Broker . I am sure many there will be many using canes and walkers because it appeals to an older crowd but I think I would tire of my boot and cane to fast to enjoy myself.
