CLTivate Your Impact

60 Nonprofits, One Field, Endless Ways to Give Back

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

    Helen Keller

Sixty Charlotte-area nonprofits will gather at Truist Field (home to Charlotte's Knights baseball team) in Uptown Charlotte this evening for the inaugural CLTivate Community, a volunteer fair designed to connect local organizations with people ready to give back to the Queen City. Some of the nonprofits include:

  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Foster Village Charlotte
  • Dress For Success Charlotte
  • Habitat For Humanity
  • Furnish For Good
  • Charlotte Family Housing
  • Blood Cancer United... and more.

"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."

Muhammad Ali

Why it matters

If you’ve been looking for a way to make a difference, this event is a rare one-stop opportunity (in a very cool venue!) to discover causes that align with your personal passions and values.

"Every person can make a difference and every person should try."

John F. Kennedy

Beyond the event: The impact of volunteering

Volunteering is more than just donating your time — it strengthens both the community and the individual. Benefits include:

  • Building connections: Volunteering helps you meet like-minded people, expand your network, and create friendships rooted in shared purpose.

  • Personal growth: You gain new skills, leadership experience, and deeper understanding of the community’s needs.

  • Well-being: Studies show that giving back reduces stress, improves mental health, and fosters a sense of fulfillment.

  • Strengthening nonprofits: Many local organizations depend on volunteers to sustain programs, expand outreach, and respond to Charlotte’s fast-growing population.

  • Welcoming newcomers: For the 157 people moving into the Charlotte region every day, volunteering offers an authentic way to get plugged in and feel at home.

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is what are you doing for others?"

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, in partnership with Coca-Cola Consolidated, is hosting the CLTivate Community event to spotlight opportunities for newcomers and longtime residents alike. The goal is simple: ensure nonprofits have the volunteer power they need to keep pace with the community’s growth.

That ALI quote is amazing. Although certainly not a genius, he was a very thoughtful man.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty hi Jeff... I've always felt that Ali was much "deeper" than most give him credit for.

One would think that it should be easy to volunteer, but that isn't always the case, haha.

Hi Nina,
Wow... 60 non-profits in one place. A great way to get exposure, especially for some of the lesser known ones.

Carol Williams hi Carol... I agree... when I reviewed the list there were a lot of "names" on it that did not ring a bell with me at all.

This is such a great idea, Nina Hollander, Broker, and what a fantastic way to connect those moving to Charlotte with ways to immediately make an impact! That quote about service being the "rent you pay" is spot on. Thank you for sharing such valuable, community-focused information!

Lew Corcoran good morning, Lew... while this is the first such "volunteer fair" in Charlotte, hopefully it won't be the last and more nonprofits will participate in future years.
