"ActiveRain is more than a blogging platform. It’s a friendship factory."
-Carol Williams

This month’s ActiveRain Challenge is all about connecting with fellow members. For me, this is not a new concept, it has been one of the greatest joys of my ActiveRain journey. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting dozens of AR friends in person, and I put together this collage from the many meet-ups I've enjoyed. I've included a few additional pictures that weren't available when the collage was created.
These meetups have happened all across the United States. From coast to coast, I’ve shared meals, laughter, and conversations with people I first knew only through their words on a screen and a few Zoom meetings. The only time someone came to my town of Wenatchee was when Kat Palmiotti and her husband Anthony visited. Otherwise, my connections have taken place during my road trip travels.
I’m often asked which meetup was my favorite. The truth is, I can't possibly choose one. Each meeting was unique, and each person special. Even though we all are (or were) involved in the real estate industry, the real treasure wasn’t about business. Instead, it was about the people. We are a community of givers. We share knowledge freely, support one another, and celebrate each other through life, not just business.
What surprised me most? Honestly, nothing. Every person I met was precisely as I expected them to be. Warm, genuine, and authentic. Each one felt like an old friend, even though we had never met before. These relationships have enriched my life in ways I never imagined possible, giving me the joy of knowing I have friends scattered all over the country.
This is what makes ActiveRain different. We are not just a bunch of real estate professionals chasing deals. We are learners, teachers, and connectors. We build friendships that extend beyond contracts and closings, and we carry those relationships with us long after a blog post fades from the front page.
Here is a sentiment I often share when welcoming new members to ActiveRain:
“Welcome to ActiveRain, where connections are made, ideas appear, and opportunity rains down! This isn’t just a blogging platform; it’s a thriving community of professionals who support one another, share what works, and learn together. The real magic of ActiveRain is in the relationships you build.”
If you’ve ever wondered what happens when ActiveRain friendships leave the comment section and hit the road, the answer is simple: laughter, good food (and drinks), and memories that last a lifetime.
I've had a busy month and haven't connected with anyone I hadn't connected with before, but I have talked to Eileen Burns 954.483.3912 and Kathy Streib on the phone within the last few days.
This is my entry into the September Challenge hosted by Leanne Smith and Bob "RealMan" Timm.
