This Week…Forgiveness

When we were kids and fought with our siblings or others, or when someone broke our toy, our teachers or parents stepped in. Shake hands and forgive each other!

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

When Erika Kirk forgave the despicable being that killed her husband, I believe it made many take stock of the feelings they’ve harbored for years.

When you forgive, you in no way change the past - but you sure do change the future. Bernard Meltzer

Were I in her shoes, I don’t know if I could have been as magnanimous. However, I  know and understand the advantages of forgiveness.

When we cannot forgive a person or event, what we’re doing is giving that entity power over us. You hand over control of your feelings and actions to that person.

Forgive me my nonsense, as I also forgive the nonsense of those that think they talk sense. Robert Frost

We can’t be happy because of their deed…we can’t have a family or career because of them…we can’t live as we’d like because of them.

Forgiving doesn’t mean that you’ve forgotten. It means that you are a better person. It means that you are thriving and moving forward.

To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.

 Lewis B. Smedes

Have a beautiful weekend.

Forgiveness is the greatest gift that can be given. Question, can you forgive a person that does not ask you for forgiveness? Jesus said as he was dying on the cross, "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do? Either way it is a noble gift, no THE noblest of gifts the act of forgiveness.

Kathy was right with this one. Not everyone can let things go and sometimes we just need to. Very basic but very true

GilbertRealtor BillSalvatore as I commented on Kathy's blog "the people who protest by rioting, being violent, and destroying the property of others are admitting defeat by doing so.  Those with a righteous cause do not do turn to violence to achieve their goal."
