I moved into a new home January, 2017. It's important to keep your home well maintained and easy to care for as you age. The suggestions below on new construction homes explain that very well.
If you don't repair a small leak, it becomes a nightmare! When your old caulk cracks in the kitchen or bathroom, replace it right away unless you want to do extensive remodeling instead of an inexpensive repair. Keep your HVAC system working property to extend it's live. Change filters in all appliances regularly. Have your roof checked.
I decided when I moved to keep it decluttered by doing two things. I vowed not to buy anything without throwing something out. I still do that. Yesterday I bought two blouses and a pair of slacks and promptly reviewed my closet and got rid of 5 items that were worn out. The other thing is that I deep decluttering a room a month. I kept on track until surgery late last year. It took until spring to get back on track.
Due to an accident, I am pending surgery again in November. I have two full rooms and one closet to declutter and hope to step up and get them done before surgery. If not, it will have to wait until late Spring again.
It's important to keep your home in good repair and decluttered. It saves you money, frustration and helps keep live less stressful.
