Maine Fall Foliage Near Peak Colors

By
Real Estate Agent with MOOERS REALTY ME Broker License 106759

Farm harvest operations happening as Maine fall foliage nears peak colors.

Fall weather with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures are underway as local farmers harvest their crops. In my area it is potatoes, grains, apples. pumpkins, lots of vegetables.

How far along is Jack Frost working in tandem with Mother Nature on fall foliage leaf colors? It depends on where you are talking in Maine.

This is a potato harvest video for a family farm I own in Houlton Maine, Aroostook County from last weekend.

Was also up in the unorganized township area taking a listing of Aroostook County recreation property last Saturday and see the for-comparison difference.

Here's a glimpse of the fall tree colors around Prides Mill, St Croix T8R4 Township.

Maine is a tourism state, you are reminded daily with all our outdoor four season beauty. Dubbed "Vacationland" that's clearly stamped on the bottom of every vehicle license plate so you won't forget.

Come on up, plan a trip to check out the Maine fall colors, to see the harvest farm operations underway now.

I'll make sure you get some farm fresh Maine potatoes to take back as a remind of your trip to "Vacationland".

Those Maine tourism dollars help the small local community economies, and I try to do everything possible to spread the word.

Lots of vacationers visit Maine all four seasons. You can head home with a bag of Maine potatoes, apples, other produce.

Take your pick of farm stand pumpkins, other produce from local outdoor markets.

Away from people, up close with wildlife. Maine, the way life should be.

Maine is four seasons of outdoor beauty.

Good morning Andrew. The wife and I are going to take a brief road trip to the country in the middle of the month and hope the leaves will wait a bit to turn on our area. Enjoy your day.

Hi Andrew- your vidoes and feature photo are stunning!!!!    It makes me want to learn how to fly a drone (not happening!) I keep trying to get my husband to fly one since he used to fly RC airplanes.

We all have dreams about literally flying Kathy Streib without a motor right? Well I do and this is the next best thing. Your audience are the passengers in an unmanned drone.

Have a mission tomorrow that took 3 LAANC attempts to obtain the ok. In small rural less restrict airspace, seeing it happen even here for safety.

I love seeing the beauty of the Fall colors in other places, but to me, it tells me that it is too cold there for me, haha.  Even though we have 4 seasons here, it seems more like we only have 2, Spring and Summer, haha.

Thanks to Kathy for sharing/featuring your post!  Maybe I'll answer my own question, but you mentioned "hardwoodsd" and "mill" in your video.  Is some of this lumber in your Maine forests used for housing construction?  Since the US buys a large majority of hardwoods from Canada, your state's lumber is tarriff free ;)

I noticed the small solar panel - very smart.  Especially where no trees shade it.  When those solar panels are shaded, their production of power diminishes greatly so the small ones are ideal.

Great post and videos, but count me out for the outhouse!

Lumber is everywhere. An 80 acre woodlot created all kinds of dimensional lumber so building a house is not so expensive Jan Green - Scottsdale, AZ !

Yes it is in Maine, but not every tree is used to build homes.   National home builders specifically use hardwoods, so if you have those, then yes, your lumber is in more demand that southern states that don't have hardwoods!  Good for  you!

Cedar for log homes, knotty pine for v-match tongue in groove are very popular softwood varieties. Lucky that Maine is 91% wooded. But houses, not woodlots get listed, market like this new property upload.
