Gavin’s Gift of Grace: Turning Heartbreak into Hope

Gavin’s Gift of Grace holds such a special place in my heart. It was founded in loving memory of sweet Gavin Gouldie, who tragically passed away on May 17, 2018. One of my dearest friends is Gavin’s grandmother, and I’ve been blessed to witness the incredible strength of this family firsthand.

Gavin’s parents, Adam and Amy Gouldie, chose to transform their grief into purpose. Through Gavin’s Gift of Grace, they lovingly serve families who are navigating the unimaginable loss of a child. Their personalized care packages, heartfelt support, and unwavering faith bring comfort and light to those who need it most.

Their dedication has inspired so many, including the team at Dell Children’s Hospital, which has even reached out to partner with their new hospice division. Recently, Adam and Amy were honored with KVUE’s 5 Who Care Award. With true humility, they shared that this recognition belongs not just to them, but to their family, friends, and every volunteer who helps make Gavin’s Gift of Grace possible.

If you’d like to support their mission, upcoming events are listed on their website, and donations can be made directly: www.gavinsgiftofgrace.org

Good morning, Dorie... always so sad when a child dies. I've always been impressed by the resilience of some parents in turning a disaster like this into something positive and uplifting.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX - It's always sad when a child dies. My son had three friends and both of them had parents that lost one infant: the other two, children under 10. Plus, my cousin had a daughter that died. Going to those funerals were very painful for the family, friends, and the community.

No funeral is easy. When children are involved, it is excruciatingly painful. As a kid growing up in Chicago I had six friends I played with whose parent died (five were fathers; one was a mother). I never forgot any of those people I knew so well and kept them in my prayers.

Death is something no one wants to face Patricia Feager especially when its a child. Daily prayer is part of their life.

It is always sad to me when someone passes. That being said I simply can not imagine the pain for the loss of a child. Such strong people!
