This Tuesday at our regular Zoom meeting, the presenter, Bob "RealMan" Timm, shared his experience of running a podcast for many years. Bob cleverly solved the challenge of creating his own podcast studio by renting equipment and space at a local radio station. What began as a real estate podcast evolved into a broader platform that included events and happenings around his city. Over time, Bob gained a lot of recognition and sparked conversations in his hometown of Minot, ND (pronounced like “Why Not”).
Following Bob’s talk, Debe Maxwell, CRS challenged us to imagine what topics we would cover if we hosted our own podcast. At first, I wasn’t overly eager to jump into podcasting myself — there are already so many shows out there. I’ve always enjoyed being invited as a guest speaker on other people’s podcasts, but the idea of hosting my own is intriguing and appealing.
If I were to have my own podcast, I’d focus on topics that blend my passions for real estate and community:
Mid‑Century Modern Homes — exploring their history, design, and the charm that keeps them relevant today.
Tempe, AZ Character Areas — diving into the unique neighborhoods of Tempe and what makes them special.
Investing in Real Estate — particularly in commercial real estate, with practical insights for both beginners and seasoned investors.
Through such conversations, I’d aim to inspire people to see real estate not just as property, but as a meaningful connection to community, design, history, and opportunity. I believe such a podcast could be a fun way to engage listeners while offering them valuable knowledge.
