Think: taffy pull where both sides, with equal motivation, stretch the taffy with the expected end results of a chewy, tasty & delectable taste treat. Who/what is the taffy? Who's pulling the taffy? Who's going to eat it? I used to watch it being made on the New Jersey Boardwalk. It looks, smells & tastes as good as its promise to be so. You can color (flavor), do combinations, serve warm or cold & in see-through wrappers. Now, to the point of the posting:
THE TAFFY: This is symbolic for life
WHO'S PULLING ON EACH END: Science, faith, other sources & forces
WHO'S GOING TO EAT IT: We consume it for better or for worse
PURPOSE OF TAFFY: Our consuming of it makes us appealing to the life-giver
OUR WORLD OF CHOICE
both can't be right but "one" is
We were never meant to live a life of choosing except for one choice i.e. to choose God. After that, He does all things & the Universe is run on His program via His will. In our fallen & less desirable state, we now do the choosing a sort of bane on us but never meant to be but inherited. Thus, life is a taffy pull & we must now choose
WORTHY NOTE: We are equipped for success with the following: Logic, reasoning, intuitiveness & common sense. Use all, some or combo's but that is the system
WORLD of SCIENCE
Science remains true to the scientific methods, a type of credo that all scientists live by. Their whole world is steadfastly based like a religion on the following;
1. An observation is made anywhere, for anything for any reason
2. Exploring what is observed via question after question until exhausted
3. A proposed explanation for the observation, smart guess that can be tested using admitted, limited evidence that serves as a starting point to know more
4. Doing the testing via an experiment of what we know so far to create data that can be analyzed
5. A conclusion of chosen subject matter then to review & verification by others
THE RED LINE
While you can read the above, the process remains rigorous, challenging, detailed, incomplete, full of failures & dead-ends & must be proven at each stage to the most skeptical & critical inquirers. If you can pass the mustering of these, your science proposal advances & becomes doctrine which can be expanded on
EINSTEINS GAUNTLET
For years, Einstein worked on his E=MC2 wanting to very much have it become acceptable science. He submitted his work & the scientific community released their systems upon it. It was rejected mid-way through disproved & rejected.
HERE IS WHERE IT BECOMES INTERESTING
He knew that he knew what he submitted to be true & could not be persuaded otherwise. He took their rejection, paused over it continuously & went back to his methodical journey that led to his equation only discover a part of it that he wrote down incorrectly. They were right & he was right. He resubmitted it & success!
WHAT WE CONCLUDE
That the scientific method holds up, works & is the high bar all scientists must navigate. This community lives & swears by & of this standard & they should considering it gives results. It also does one other remarkable thing as follows:
It adheres to & employs the "I don't know" or "that's all we know" giving credibility
WORLD of FAITH
This is a very personal world that visits with the many over the millenniums that people have accepted & live by. No one can prove their religious posture except to argue it is so making it less credible & subjective not mention a stretch to many
CORE of FAITH
People of faith, maintain, when called upon, that they just believe in what they share some do it with passion adding an emotional basis with a plea to believe like they do. The genuine rest in knowing that they know & trust in that know while at the same time, the not so committed say the same, but unconvincingly.
WHAT COMPLICATES FAITH
Are the hundreds of thousands of religions each claiming that their way is the way & your way is not the way adding a period! To the scientific community, to other religions, this is complicated & confusing as not everyone can be right. So, who is?
YOUR PERSONAL TRUTH
It all boils down to what a person chooses to believe with some exceptions. There are those that have been given revelation, insight & privileges in the spiritual realms called prophets, teachers, evangelists & the like. Every other religion boasts the same so what to do? Faith does the necessary work but with a caveat
UNIVERSAL LAW
"It is not what you tell yourself, but what yourself tells you". Your personal truth must give way to the Eternal Truth & that is the way, the life & the trustworthy. It's knowing that you know that you know, deep within the self, that this is so. No doubt, confusion, argument or hesitation can prevail as it is the revealed way via a Revelator. It is not your thoughts, emotions, five senses, opinions, other sources, or beguiling, persuasive so called dynamics. Do not doubt this, i.e. what is right in your own heart & your home free. Remember, you have one life to find the one way & after that, ALL will know, but will they profit?
