Motivational Monday…Being Great
Most of us strive to be great at what we do…whether or not it’s in our profession, our chosen sport, or our role as a parent. Maybe Great is more than you could hope for, but who sets out to be just ok?
Jay Glazer on Fox NFL Sunday shared a story about Drew Brees, a former quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. Years ago, while in New Orleans, it was late at night, and Jay was with Sean Payton, who was the Saints’ head coach.

The coach forgot something and needed to return to the training facility. Glazer said when they went in, there was one light on in the Tight End’s room. Drew Brees was sitting there by himself, watching game tapes.
When Glazer asked him why he was there so late, Brees responded…
“Sometimes, trying to be great is lonely.”
How many times have we called it quits because everyone else did? The others in your group have gone for the day. You were the only one to attend a seminar or class, even if you didn’t get credit for it.
Brees added: “I felt like I had to earn the right to win before I even stepped foot on the field.”
It’s about being willing to do more than the other person…to go beyond what is expected.

Winning…being the best at what you do…achieving your goal…They’re earned through your preparation and hard work.
Have a remarkable week!
There is no shortcut to achievement. Life requires thorough preparation - veneer isn't worth anything.
