“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

I missed the Zoom meeting yesterday, so I missed the assignment for the week. Those of you who attend regularly know I attend almost all the Zoom meetings, unless I'm traveling or golfing.
Anyway, I found Patricia Feager's post, so I now know that the assignment is to create a dream listing. Since I am retired, and I was golfing yesterday (instead of attending the meeting), I thought it would be fun to create my dream golf game instead. Maybe I'll qualify for 250 points instead of the 500 for completing the assignment? Not that I need the points, but hey, it doesn't hurt to ask. What say you, Debe Maxwell, CRS? 😂
We golfers all dream about it, that magical round where everything clicks. For me, the “dream golf game” isn’t about shooting a course record, but instead having the kind of day that leaves me grinning long after the final putt drops.
First, the weather is perfect. Warm sunshine, a gentle breeze, and not a hint of smoke, wind, or rain.
My dream round starts with a smooth, confident tee shot that lands exactly where I pictured it. My irons are going right on target, the chips behave, and the putter? Oh, it’s on fire. Lag putts cozy right up to the hole, and the short ones drop with that satisfying “plunk.” No three-putts in my dreamland!
But the magic isn’t just in the scorecard, it’s in the company. I’m playing with good friends who know how to laugh and have a good time doing what we all love.
The pace of play is perfect; no waiting on every tee box, and no one breathing down our necks. The cart snacks are plentiful, and plenty of water to keep us hydrated.
And then, just to top it all off, on the 18th hole I stick an approach shot close, sink the putt, and finish with a personal best... nothing outrageous; just solid, joyful golf from start to finish.
That’s my dream golf game. Realistic? Absolutely. Rare? Absolutely. But here's the surprise... that kind of game actually happened in 2020! I shot my personal best (70) that day, when I was 68 years old!
Dreams really do come true!
