Real estate agents who are not working under stress are the most aggressive and accomplished. They seem to have that extra push because they know they are on top of their game. Yes, it’s a survival business, and the heavy hitters continually run and know how to avoid all road blocks. The most common roadblock to success is the “high maintenance” client.
This high maintenance buyer and/or homeowner must be controlled from the initial meeting. The rules must be established. There needs to be a mutual understanding, in no uncertain terms, that there’s one leader on this team. The leader and the client must create a common ground where “common sense” guidelines are employed.
There is usually a degree of cockiness that is part of the attitude of successful agents. They are self-assured, and since they are on a path of success, they don’t hesitate to break the chains that bind them. The agents who are on track with their business are determined to stay there, at almost any cost.
It’s a train that never stops; it’s a well-oiled machine that must continue to move forward; and it’s a journey that never slows down for fear of not resuming that previous status.
To be ambitious and totally focused are the catalysts that will result in success. Maintaining that motivation throughout the year is a feat, but the greatest achievement is to repeat it year after year. Once that happens, you never want to let it go. It takes too long to get there to let it go without a battle. “Break the chains that bind you,” and your forward motion will always continue.
If and when a buyer and/or seller must be cut loose, there’s a thought that must be remembered. When one train leaves, there’ll be another one right behind it!! Never allow it to freeze you up!!!
