Berea City Council Recap + Community Halloween Activities | October 7, 2025

The Berea City Council met on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at City Hall. Here’s a community-focused look at what was discussed and how these updates impact our residents.

The evening began with the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance led by Steve Caudill, followed by the approval of the agenda and September 16 minutes.

Hope’s Wings: Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Kaylynn Carpenter, Assistant Director of Hope’s Wings, addressed the council to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Hope’s Wings continues to play a vital role in supporting survivors across Madison County. Their presentation served as a reminder of the importance of community awareness and resources available to those in need.

Berea Pollinator Gardens Update

Next, Judith Weckman shared updates on Berea’s pollinator garden initiatives. These gardens are not just about beautification—they support the local ecosystem and provide educational opportunities for the community.

Housing Authority Appointment

Mayor Fraley requested the council’s approval for the appointment of Tracy Blevins to the Housing Authority Board. 

Department Reports & City Updates

Finance Director Susan Helton delivered the Finance Department’s report, followed by the City Administrator’s report. These updates provide insight into the city’s current operations and upcoming projects.

Mayor & Council Comments

The meeting concluded with comments from the Mayor and Council Members, emphasizing community involvement and upcoming initiatives.
