Take Me To The Park, Oh Wait... It's Closed!

I remember back five decades ago and even further that our High School required Seniors who were enrolled in a science class had to collect leaves (every other year it was insects). Leaves or bugs... I'm glad I did not have a science class my senior year. My brothers and sister all did leaf collections. I found it interesting but again, I'm glad I did not have to participate. I believe my oldest brother did both for extra credit.

This time of year I have always enjoyed looking at the foliage in Roosevelt Park. Not this year! Regretfully, due to a flood control project and the simultaneous expansion of The Roosevelt Park Zoo there is NO admittance to the area we love walking and biking through. Thus I will just appreciate my own backyard.

The grapevine in our backyard is my favorite.

We did go across town to woodland park to get a few more Fall pictures.

I didn't realize my camera was set on vignette when I took the pictures but I actually like it.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

Good morning, Bob... I loved your fall pictures. And the vignette style really suits the fall atmosphere.

Good morning and thank you Nina Hollander, Broker 😊. I don't know how I got on that setting but I agree, it looks good for these pictures.

Good morning Bob. We are off to the countryside today to view the changing colors. We have been saying we would for years but this is the year. Enjoy the view from your backyard. Enjoy your day.

I have a couple of those trips I need to make Wayne Martin . Regretfully I should have made them with the kids but hopefully there still is time as adults.

Hmm, I can imagine that there are some pretty interesting-looking leaves to be found, but it still doesn't make me want to go out and rake leaves, haha.

Thanks Brian England , A lot of different leaves have blown into our yard so I don't even need to take a walk to find them. Yesterday we had 50 mph winds.

Good morning Bob,

Your photos turned out great! maybe you will use the vignette setting more. I remember collecting leaves and having to do a report on the various varieties!

Thank you Dorie Dillard Austin TX . While I did not have to gather leaves I vividly remember my brothers and sisters collecting and categorizing them.

Expert guidance. Exceptional results.

That sounds so disappointing that your favorite Roosevelt Park is closed off this year, Bob "RealMan" Timm. But that vignette setting actually makes your backyard grapevine pictures look fantastic! It’s really appreciated that you took the time to share those beautiful fall photos, even if you had to find a new spot across town.

It was disappointing for sure Lew Corcoran . My wife, son, and I used to walk there a couple times a week together but not once this year.
