Selling Your Home? Here’s A Safety Tip You Might Not Have Considered
When I meet with homeowners preparing to sell, one topic that always comes up is safety. While we often think about securing valuables or personal information, there’s one thing many people overlook: prescription medications.
You might be surprised to hear this, but there have been real cases—some involving well-known individuals. People have attended open houses with the sole intention of stealing prescription drugs. It's a serious issue that’s easy to prevent. If you’re planning to list your home, one of the best things you can do is remove all medications from the property. And there's a perfect opportunity coming up to do just that.
On October 25th from 10am to 2pm, the DEA, in partnership with local police departments across Loudoun County, is hosting a National Drug Take Back Day. It’s a safe, anonymous way to dispose of any unused or expired prescription drugs—no questions asked.
Not only does this help keep your home safer during showings, but it also protects your community and the environment.
