The North Carolina State Fair is back in Raleigh from October 16–26, 2025, bringing 11 days of classic fair fun, agriculture exhibits, and, of course, deep-fried delights! Whether you're a long-time fairgoer or a first-timer, here are some highlights and tips for your visit.
Key Attractions and Entertainment
-
Rides and Midway: The fair features nearly 100 rides and games, from the thrilling Kamikaze and the Crazy Mouse roller coaster to classic family favorites. Don't miss the views from the State Fair SkyGazer, a massive 155-foot-tall Ferris wheel, or the 1,400-foot-long State Fair Flyer chairlift.
Note: The SkyGazer and Flyer require separate tickets and are not included in the unlimited ride wristband.
Agriculture Showcase: The fair is a major celebration of North Carolina agriculture. Be sure to check out the Got to Be NC Pavilion for local food vendors, the livestock and horse shows, and the impressive displays of giant watermelons and pumpkins.
New in 2025: Look for new entertainment like the Wild West-style roping and knife-throwing show by World Fastest Draw Champion Andy Rotz, the interactive "Zoltar"-style Conjurer Fortune Machine, and the return of the unique Carillon musical performance, Cast in Bronze, at Heritage Circle.
Food, Glorious Food: Alongside the classics like turkey legs and funnel cake, the 2025 fair is introducing a list of new food options, which often includes creative deep-fried concoctions.
