You don’t drown by falling in the water.
Some experts have claimed the housing market has been as dry as a desert this year, leaving many real estate agents feeling parched. Listings left unsold, clients ghosting them, commissions drying up. Feelings of self-doubt, unworthiness flooding their thoughts, that perhaps they weren't cut out for this.
Avoid going under for good, even if doggy-paddling for a bit until getting back on solid ground again.
Create some Ripples:
Get out in the public, face-to-face, volunteer at community events, shake hands, plant seeds for future deals. Slowly, waves will form, spreading out into the local area. Networking events, such as The Chamber of Commerce, animal rescues and charity-based organizations allow meeting like-kind people.
Fight against Submersion:
The real estate industry has stumbled into a slow year, becoming another victim of a sluggish economy. But the longer anyone wallows, the deeper self-confidence will sink, paralyzing the host. We've all experienced setbacks in our careers but have managed to overcome life's personal or professional challenges.
On the Surface:
Keep swimming, even if against the current market, it leads to more oxygen further downstream. Though self-doubt tends to sink enthusiasm, quitting is not an option, refuse to give up. In real estate, as in life, success means declining to stay down. You don’t drown by falling in the water; you drown by staying there.
Remaining mired in negative thinking does no one any good. Instead, find ways to be buoyant by enrolling in marketing classes, learning digital strategies to attract new clients. Plus, reach out and contact past clients. The choice remains solely on each professional to sink or swim. I choose to pull myself up and out!
