Philadelphia Steals and Deals Bottled Water or Tap Water

By
Real Estate Agent with HomeStarr Realty RS143922A

Here are some surprises this week: more Steals than Deals

I was made aware of the money I was spending and throwing away. In fact, it was most likely slowly making me sick as well as wasting my money. I have a feeling many of you will be as shocked as I was.

Let's talk about bottled water and how safe they are

Let's start with these Brands

Poland Springs (there is no such Spring; it dried up years ago, and they are in a legal battle).

Starky Mineral Spring Water -  Whole Foods: arsenic found

Dasani - Coca-Cola - adds magnesium, potassium, and high levels of nano Plastics

Deer Park -Use of Forever chemicals, PHFA found (no lawsuit as of yet)

FUGI - arsenic and microplastics

Sam's Choice - Eight chemicals were found in this water; THM is considered a high Health risk.

Topo Chica Mineral Water by Coca-Cola is sold at Walmart in Mexico and contains over 9 PFAS, which were investigated and reduced to 3.9, which is still double what it should be. I like Mineral water, so I will be sure not to purchase this product.

Perhaps you should contact your local water company. I am connected with my water company in Philadelphia, PA.

Instead of writing more—there is more—I am going to attach a video. I hope you find it helpful. I know I did and will not be purchasing any more bottled water. Try using a slice of lemon or orange if you do not like the taste. My friend Jessie puts cinnamon sticks in her water. The video is long, but it is shocking. You may not purchase the water, but younger people are buying these items, thinking they are healthier than drinking tap water. Please watch and think again .

Pass on the message to your friends.

Hannah, I know you started talking about this on the phone today.   I only drink tap water, and put a fruit punch additive in it that has no calories or sugar.

Hannah I buy FUGI, so maybe that is why I develop a twitch after I drink a bottle.  🤪

George Souto That was one of the brands I gasped at when I saw it . I always thought it was the boutique brand of bottled water -

Hi Hannah- We have bottled water only for hurricanes and to anyone who needs water when they leave the house. I use a Klean Kanteen for our filtered water. And if I"m out, I always have lemon in my water.

Kathy Streib Wow, I was astonished when I read this . I had heard about the small pieces of plastic, but the arsenic and other chemicals—no. Food for thought: check your local water website —you may not even need a water filter. I know that when my sister moved to Florida, she purchased one because she disliked the taste of Florida's water.

It's scary to find out how dangerous the water we drink can be to our health.  I only drink natural spring water these days, and if I have water in a restaurant, I will get it hot and make myself tea to drink, haha.

Brian England I suggest you watch the video . This video is about spring water. You are being fooled . Some of these springs do not even exist, and if they do, chemicals may have been added . It may be beneficial to take some time and educate yourself  to what big business is doing

That sounds scary, Hannah Williams and I wish the government didn't allow us to be poisoned just because it is good for their bank accounts.

Wow, this was eye-opening and genuinely appreciated, Hannah Williams. Thanks for laying it all out with such clarity. Your post made me pause, rethink, and check my own habits 🫣. Grateful for the heads-up and the care you put into sharing it!

Lew Corcoran I am a big drinker of sparkling mineral water. I am going to save my money. I did not see the brands I use, and they did say glass bottles are usually safe. I am going to make some profound changes especially after reading my local water website

Good morning, Hannah... great information. That video was scary. I was aware of some issues with bottled water and stopped drinking it quite some time ago. I drink filtered water from my fridge.

Nina Hollander, Broker  Intelligent lady, I am, however, glad I found this information. Lifting these giant bottle economy brands into my car and then carrying them to the house is strenuous and back-renching

Interesting that most of the water in the video is owned by Pepsi, Coke, Nestle and Dr Pepper. I drink my well water, and when going on a plane, bring my own water (metal) bottle to fill up so I won't have to buy bottled water. We might go "dry" camping (without our water system working) and I was going to bring bottled water but I think I'll just get some large water jugs and bring our own water.

one gallon of water is 8 miles to the gallon of gasoline when traveling.  That's why we empty water tanks while rving on the road.  We did not have diesel.

Kat Palmiotti I was also amazed at the large companies that owned the water bottling plants and then sold some to smaller companies. Water is big business, which makes me think about the man whose name I cannot recall, but he blew the whistle on mortgage fraud in 2008, andit was said afterward that he invested in drinking water

Good morning Hannah. Hearing about concerns with bottled water, I bought a big glass, change my refrigerator filter often and use the filtered water from there. Done with bottled water. Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin I am glad to hear this. Now I do not feel guilty for not giving Cleo bottled water . My question is, do I give this bottled water I have to my plants?

Hannah Williams I have a filter system attached to my ice cubes and kitchen sink.  Lately plumbing pipes are being replaced in my neighborhood causing water main breaks and boil water notices.

I got cut off on #10 brand and will research my brand of purchase thanks to your inspiration

Miss Hannah Williams - I mentioned in my homework diet post that I do not drink bottled water.  I filter my water. When on the go, I drink from non-toxic and BPA-free bottles.   Rarely, if ever, do I drink water in a restaurant.

I am not at all surprised by any of this. Thank you for sharing and educating those who think the bottled water they are drinking is okay.

Hannah Williams   When I drink Poland springs, I don't get a bad taste from legal activity as I have in the past after meeting with lawyers.

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 It is not the taste that concerns me; it is what is inside the bottle. I would rather drink my water from my sink in a beautiful glass, with ice and maybe a slice of lemon or lime. I will save my money
