Moving into Fall in Watertown Connecticut 2025-5

In making my color walk at the Golf Course in Crestbrook Park in Watertown, CT it was most apparent that we hit peak, on the course.

I suspect that it would have to do with the openness of the fairways that would allow more wind penetration of the leaves, as the surrounding areas did not have much of a depletion.

The gazebo alongside the lake was cleared of leaves as were the trees.

The trees alongside the lake were baren with a minimal reflection off the water.

The opposite bank is the same.

Looking down to the 2nd green there are very few trees left on the trees.

Looking across the 3ed to the 4th fairways there are very few leaves on the trees

The 4th green shows well but the shade doesn't allow it to display colors.

The 7th fairway has a lot of slope, but with the leaves down it is less dramatic for the view, but the shots are still tricky.

The color around the 8th hole was still strong even though the hole is a 205 yard down hill beast.

Looking backwards to the 7th fairway offers a view that is pretty as well.

Th par 5 9th is long and the distraction of the leaves whether on the trees or the ground are difficult.

The reverse view shows how much of the color is gone.

The fairway alongside the 11-hole show almost no color on the sides, yet the hillside beyond shows a lot.

There are no leaves on the side of the 11th fairway.

From the tee of the 13th hole looking up to the green, even the red maple behind the green has no color left

The 15th fairway shows some color but not as striking as it has been in the past.

I have a library of photos from years past and as the leaves are almost gone, will share some of them for the Sunday post next week.

On the road leaving the park to get back to the highway, I pulled over to show the colors not only that distract on the road, but on the hills around as well.

All your photos look good to me Ed as we don't change colors.  The only color change is due to all the rain we had and OMG the flowers are in full bloom and so gorgeous outside!

Good afternoon Ed,

I always like to see your photos of Fall. Even with lots of leaf loss you still have way more colors than we do! Thank you for sharing!

Ed the trees are losing their leaves quickly, without there being much of a change in color in-between.

Good morning, Ed... amazing how many leaves have dropped since the last time you posted your photos. Around Charlotte we have streets with tons of leaves and then streets where leaves have left trees bare.

Such a vivid walk through Crestbrook Park, Ed Silva, 203-206-0754. Thank you for sharing the quiet drama of fall’s retreat 🍂. Your reflections made me pause and appreciate how even fading color holds its own kind of beauty. Really grateful for the glimpse into Watertown’s seasonal shift!

Good morning Ed. Truly enjoy your photo tour of the fall colors on the golf course. As the leaves turn they are so beautiful for such a short time before they drop. Nature has a way of telling us time flies. Enjoy your day.
