Motivational Monday…A Squirrel’s Lesson
Our favorite place for Sunday morning walks is Meyer Park. There are often multiple games on any one of its 26 soccer fields. If we’re lucky, we are in time to hear the church carillon or see the small Tai Chi group that meets under a pavilion.
However, Larry and I admit that our primary reason for choosing this
park is the squirrels. There are grey and red squirrels…some relatively tame, others, still learning who we are.
Have you ever noticed how a squirrel will take his peanut, find a suitable tree root, and with his back against the tree, proceed to eat it?
Many times, though, the squirrel takes a peanut and scampers off to bury it. And just as quickly, he’ll return for another peanut.
After taking, burying, and returning several times, he finally takes a break and eats one of his treats.
What does this have to do with you?
You’ve heard this before…take time out from what you do to enjoy, replenish, and renew yourself.
Gather your listings, work your pipeline, hold weekend open houses, and network like you mean it.
BUT…make sure you take the time to enjoy what you’ve done…to refresh yourself…and to enjoy time with your family and friends.
Sometimes the most important thing in a whole day is the rest we take between two deep breaths.
