For several decades my health has been very good to exceptional. No major health issues. No doctor ordered prescriptions.
Unfortunately, sometimes life happens and things change. Since mid-August 2025 I have been experiencing not the best of health. Nothing really significantly serious, but for me who has been quite active, serious enough. My health care provider believes I was exposed to long term COVID as I have the many of the symptoms. I do not believe in COVID tests due to my cynical nature.
On top of that “great” news, after five plus decades of typing, my wrists decided to suddenly to hurt and the diagnosis was carpel tunnel. I am in the process of meeting with the surgeon which is another long and boring story. Add in seeing double that was due to a new glass prescription that was not accurate, only added to the sometimes life happens.
Finally during the first four weeks of the “COVID” exposure, I was not eating and not taking in the necessary protein. Failure to take in protein I learned resulted in the continued pain in my arms to legs muscles. That pain has been reduced to only the legs. I learned it will take up to four to five months if I ingest at least 70-85 grams of protein on a daily basis. One benefit of this lack of appetite is that I have lost 22 pounds. And the good news is that I am keeping it off. Yippee
Yes, sometimes life happens and we are not prepare for all the changes that accompany the happening. For me, this has meant:
- Reducing my work commitments and schedule
- Reducing the time on the computer typing hence why I have not been blogging here on Active Rain
- Taking breaks
- Changing my dietary habits and requirements.
Probably the most important lesson learned when sometimes life happens is realizing what you are currently encountering is far less than someone with cancer, someone who lost his or her business or home to floods.
Keeping one’s perspective Is essential when
sometimes life happens.
Hopefully as time moves forward these sometimes life happens experiences will bring me back physically and mentally to where I was or close to where I was. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to move forward and I believe my faith has been a strong partner with me during the last two months.
