If you are reading this, you probably know I am working diligently to retire and move to Portugal. So, first on the list is my business. Make sure my clients are taken care of and have someone they can trust to assist them after I leave.
Next, is the website, which has provided me with a good amount of business over the years. Just looking over briefly, it has provided me with $175,000 over the last 5 years. Not BAD!
When I spoke to Direct Nic (my domain hosting company) he said it isn't about the TOPIC, it is the domain seasoning itself that is worth the money. So, went into Zillow to find all the Joan Cox REALTORS in the US. Only one left in Chicago I also went into LinkedIn, to see if any people there have the same name.
I called the agent in Chicago - THAT was a funny call! She answered, and I asked - Is this Joan Cox? She said yes, who is this? I said Joan Cox. She said -- NO WHO ARE YOU? Then I laughed, I told her the call would probably be the funniest all day! We had a great conversation, and she is looking to retire in the next couple of years, but would think about it and call me back. She didn't know there WAS a Joan Cox in Denver, so knew right away, she didn't do SEO, and probably wouldn't be a good fit.
Then I called the Joan Cox ARTIST in Maryland, and she knew me RIGHT AWAY! She says when she googles herself, both our websites come up, and yes they do. She said it was nice to chat, but her domains are working for her. BTW, her website is: JoanCoxArt.com, and she does nice work and many art shows all over the world.
That process didn't work well, so may need to go back to the host company and have them sell it, if possible.
