What's the Difference Between PGA Verano & Astor Creek Golf & Country Club?

If you are looking to relocate to South Florida and are looking for new homes with a golf lifestyle, then you will find this article helpful in your search. We often get asked what the difference is between the two premier communities, PGA Village Verano and Astor Creek Golf and Country Club in Port St Lucie, Florida.

There are a lot of similarities between these two communities, yet many differences we'll go over.

PGA Village Verano is an established, luxury manned-gated community by Kolter Homes with villas, townhomes, and single family homes. In 2022, new floorplans opened up a variety of structural options and second floor bonus rooms ranging from over 1,200 to 3,000 square feet and from 2 to 5 bedrooms.

Amenities include a 40.000 square feet clubhouse complex including Club Talavera and The Talavera Fitness Center. Enjoy events at the social ballroom, cooking classes in the demonstration kitchen, painting & ceramics in the art studio, card cames, billiards and reading in the library. Outdoors is a resort style swimmnig pool with hot tub. Indoors is an indoor junior olmypic pool and hot tub, as well as a state of the art fitness center and class studio.

The pickleball center features 27 courts with a champion court. There is also a second fitness center with EGYM equipment with resistance-training equipment as well as a class studio for fitness classes. The outdoor resistance pool is a circular pool where residents can enjoy a low impact workout walking against the current.

PGA Verano is affiliated with PGA Golf Club. However, golf is not mandatory to live in this community.

Cresswind is a 55+ community within PGA Verano with a separate clubhouse and resort swimming pool. Residents within Cresswind also have acess to the main amenities within PGA Verano.

When it comes to Astor Creek Golf & Country Club, residents can enjoy unlimited golf with family privileges to the 18 hole golf course designed by golf architect Chris Wilczynski, as well as the 15 acre grass driving range, 3 acre short game complex and 15,000 sq ft practice putting green. Golf memberships are mandatory within Astor Creek Golf & Country Club.

The 25,000 square foot clubhouse features a full service restaurant and circular bar with indoor and outdoor dining. The state of the art fitness center features free weights, smith machine, cable machines, cardio equipment and EGYM equipment. There is also a fitness studio where group fitness classes are held such as Zumba and yoga. Outdoors is a resort style swimming pool with lap lanes and a hot tub overlooking the golf course.

Astor Creek Golf & Country Club currently has 8 pickleball courts, 2 tennis courts and a basketball courts and will eventually have 16 pickleball and 4 tennis courts.

There are going to be about 900 homes, all single family with 2 builders  in this community .

Predominately built by Kolter Homes, you will find the same floorplans from 3 of the home collections that are offered at PGA Verano.

The price tag will look a bit higher at Astor Creek starting with the Jordan offering 2 bedrooms 2baths just under 2000 square feet starting from about $570,000 not including the lot premium or design and structural options. You will have even larger floorplans extending up to 6 bedrooms and well over 4000 square feet.

Homesites within Astor Creek Golf & Country Club are a minimum of 150 feet deep with no back to back homes like PGA Verano, situated on either privately landscaped, water and/or golf views.

Both communities have floorplans offered by Kolter Homes with lots of structural options and personalization, however depending on budget PGA Verano may have more affordable options for you but Astor Creek may have bigger floorplans with more rooms and square footage for you.

How to choose, Which neighborhood to choose, that all really depends on things like budget, lifestyle, where you want to be…maybe you really only want to be in a 55+ community.
