Larry and I often joke that being REALTORS is part negotiator, part therapist, and part magician, and a recent client’s message proved just that.

That’s right, we got praised for emotional support, not just paperwork.
The backstory makes it even sweeter. This couple was relocating from another state and felt overwhelmed by the different neighborhoods, inspections, appraisals, and a seemingly endless list of paperwork. We walked them through every step, explained each form, and even what to expect at each stage. We also shared lessons we’ve learned from other clients along the way, like how to make the most of a limited viewing window, how to anticipate common inspection surprises, or how to negotiate the extras without losing sleep.
Their heartfelt response reminded us why attention to detail and personal connection matter as much as market knowledge. This is the experience we try to provide for all of our clients by offering the same guidance, encouragement, and support to reduce stress. Small touches like sending a handwritten note after a showing or reminding them to breathe during a tense negotiation really do make a real difference.

Humor has always played a role too. Even without funny mishaps, a little laughter goes a long way when things feel overwhelming. A well-timed joke or playful observation can instantly ease tension and create a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
In real estate, every story teaches a lesson, whether it’s patience, creativity, or simply taking time to connect with people. We cherish these responses because they’re proof that our approach works: knowledge, care, and a positive attitude can turn what feels like a stressful process into something memorable, even joyful. That’s what keeps our clients coming back, and why we love what we do!
