Having A Lost Pet Is Scary!

I'm not sure why this concern came across Timmothy's mind but I have noticed announcements from "RING" that they are starting a lost dog feature for RING subscribers.

This is a natural for RING as most of the local videos I see are homeowners reporting lost dogs captured on their RING doorbell.

I want to share a old story with you about when Timmothy lost his guinea pig, Hershey six years ago. The picture below is the only one I could find here at work.

The story is that Timmothy had Hershey in a little pen in the backyard. When Timmothy was not looking Hershey escaped. We assumed we would never see Hershey again. Two days later I was in the backyard and I spotted Hershey hiding in the grapevine growing on our fence. I scooped him up, rang the doorbell and told Timmothy that someone was here to see him. Timmothy looked puzzled until he saw Hershey. He was elated to see Hershey again and never let him get away from him again.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

Good morning Bob, We once had a Yorkie that thought he was the Hercules of the dog world outside and took every opportunity to escape. My wife, and I clam person, got excited every time he worked his magic. Luckily, he never went far and preferred to visit our neighbor. Enjoy your day.

Good morning, Bob... I've had that happen once with one of my cats who disappeared for two days. I suspect she went through the dog door. Two days later she was back in fine form, clean, well fed... and I have no idea where she'd been. I was very happy to see her back but had two very difficult days looking for her.

I'm glad Hershey was found! It's terrible when a pet escapes.

I am sure that they would go looking for Joe if he didn't come home, so it works both ways, haha.

I really appreciate you sharing this heartfelt story and the insight about RING’s new feature, Bob "RealMan" Timm. It’s a reminder of how much these small innovations can ease big worries, and I’m grateful for the way you tied it to real life 🙂. Thanks for putting this out there—it’s both practical and touching!

I like the idea Lew Corcoran as I know how worrisome it is to wonder where your pet is.

We see special signs along the posts in town asking for help to find a special dog or cat and even a phone number to call with any news, good or bad.

It's been a while since I've seen such signs Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 (a good thing) except for lost cat signs... you would think neighbors would figure out that someone is eliminating them (not me).

Thank goodness you  found him. In my area the hawks would see him as lunch (a nice Hersey treat).

That is what I was concerned about as well but here it would more likely be an owl.

Hi Bob- I see a lot of "lost pet" posts on the Nextdoor app as well. We had our Brittanys chipped and thank goodness. Lucky loved to escape and go sight-seeing. She did once and thanks to someone not far away, she called the vet and we were called.

Losing a pet creates a panic, sense of loss, sorrow, that only a pet owner can feel.  Something many of us have experienced at one time or another.  m

Bob "RealMan" Timm my granddaughter is very close to the dog and two cats she has, and there would be lots of tears involved if one of them was to go missing.

Kids are really affected the worst George Souto but us adults will usually shed a tear or two as well. 🤥
