Thankful for Career Support
The November Challenge for blogger members of ActiveRain is to share expressions of thankfulness. I am currently thankful for many years of a comfortable retirement that has been made possible by a successful career in the real estate industry.
Many people have provided me with meaningful support and assistance over the years. Some of the most productive assistance was from my staff members at the office and the very special support for my licensed assistant who worked in my home office for five decades. That special assistant happened to by my wife, Dolores.
Dolores was always there to assist me in any way possible and she spent many nights and weekends taking calls, adding information to our database and assisting me with the scheduling of appointments that sometimes lead to the completion of over one hundred transactions a year.
One of my most challenging times took place after I fell on the ice and injured my knee and that injury lead to two operations and many months of recovery at home. I would take information on the phone, write contracts and Dolores took care of all of the personal contacts. Thankfully, we had a very productive year.
For the last 20 plus years of my real estate career, I specialized in the marketing and sale of foreclosures. During that period, I referred listings and many purchasers to associates. I am thankful for the many agents who provided services and support at RE/MAX Realty Group in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
And, of course, I am thankful for the many purchasers who worked with me and then provided a constant supply of referrals. Many of my investor clients used my services to purchase multiple properties.
I recall a special investor client who also happened to be a real estate broker. He used my services to purchase over thirty condominiums in the Montgomery Village area and made the transactions easy by not requiring any showings or mortgage worries. They were all cash transactions.
This Thanksgiving season is a good time to be thankful for all who have have helped us.
