Why Am I Here?

Senior moments can be scary, frustrating and an endless  supply of jokes. I remember a female comedian  once saying: "at least when I have a senior moment in the bathroom I can usually figure it out". I think it may have been Phyllis Diller. My parents really liked Phyllis and I believe she came to Fargo a couple of times where they got to see her live.

At my age I've accepted that I am occasionally going to forget why I entered a room, fortunately I usually figure it out. More concerning for me is running an errand at night and becoming disorientated. Again, fortunately, It's only momentary and in the dark of night.

I wrote this post in response to Timmothy's cartoon but as long as I'm on the subject let me ask you: Do you, or have you used any of the memory improvement drugs or supplements out there? If so, have you noticed any improvement in your memory?

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

Hello Bob - forgetfulness is an age-old issue.  It seems to be one that is learned in our earliest years.  "Forgetting" to clean up one's room or complete chores assigned.  The playing field for forgetfulness expands as do the reasons.  Now, where was I going with this train of thought.  All aboard!

Good morning! My issue is the pantry. I'll be cooking and I'll think, oh, I need some (whatever the ingredient or product is) and I'll zip into the pantry and then think, hmmmm, what did I need? All I have to do is glance into the kitchen to see what I was doing and I figure it out right away but geez!

I do not use any supplements or medication for my memory. It don't even think it's old age necessarily but just too many things going on in my brain!

I also blame it on to much activity Kat Palmiotti 😉. My "pantry" moment is when I am looking for a record in my collection. For the last two nights I have been going through my records and I can't believe how many I have that I didn't know I owned.

Good morning Bob. Just when I think I am doing well at my age, I am likely to have a senior moment. But then I think about how lucky I am to be this age and move on. Enjoy your day.

Amen to that Wayne Martin ! I never thought I'd make it to 30 and then 40. After 40 I started thinking maybe I will be around a while.

Good morning, Bob. I loved Phyllis Diller... she was hysterical and a comedy staple on TV when I was growing up. As for memory pills... don't take any so can't really provide an answer to your question.

Phyllis was a gem for sure Nina Hollander, Broker . I always got a kick out of her pet name for her husband, Fang, if memory serves me correctly.

I hope that he indeed fed them before he forgot again, haha.  I am sure that they will squeal to remind him, though.

One thing I can tell you about guinea pigs Brian England they DO squeal when they are not feed and they do get loud. I think that squeal is how they got the tagg guinea PIGS.

I really appreciate the way you opened up about those everyday lapses, Bob "RealMan" Timm, and turning them into something both relatable and thoughtful 🙂. Thanks for sharing your perspective and sparking a conversation that feels honest, light, and genuinely valuable!

You are welcome Lew Corcoran . We have let to many things remain a mystery when getting them out there could help a lot of us feel "normal" if we would honestly share.
