Later

That Day And

Whenever It May Occur. . .

As seconds become minutes then hours and days, time seems omnipresent.   Especially as this month as well as 2025 moves toward their timely conclusions. And it seems to me; some may not be fully prepared to greet such reality. So, yes, I wonder. Again.

Can we trick time?  Sleight of many sorts of handiwork might be reimagined and reinterpreted as magical thinking.

On a real estate level, decision-making is a part of time. Should I act now. Or later. Does sleeping on it enhance reflection or regret.

Time and other related discussions continue all around us. Yes, I know it's November 20th as this post hits the blog roll, but time seems to speed by far too quickly. Sometimes. I digress.

Good morning, Michael... I ask myself where the time goes at least once a day. I remember my grandmother telling me many, many decades ago (she died in 1985) that time passes more quickly as we get older. At that time, I did not quite "get it." But I sure do now!

Nina Hollander, Broker - me too.  I also recall hearing similar things - sometimes it takes a while to "sink" in.  At least for me.

Insightful reflection. Time has a way of pushing decisions forward whether we’re ready or not, especially in real estate where hesitation can cost opportunities. Your point about “magical thinking” around timing hits home. There’s always that dance between acting now and waiting for clarity, yet clarity doesn’t always arrive on schedule.

A thoughtful reminder that time won’t slow down just because we want more of it.

Gwen Fowler SC Lakes & Mountains 864-710-4518 - so true.  And as far as dancing is concerned - there are many things in and around real estate that seem like one step forward, two in reverse as well as more than a few side way moves.

Time is a weird thing. I didn't have my watch on the other day, which is unusual, and I was wondering what time it was. Why? If I'm hungry it should be time to eat. If I'm tired, it should be time to sleep. Time must have been invented just so we can get to meetings at the same moment as the other attendees.

Kat Palmiotti - I received my first wristwatch when I was five or six years old and wore one for many years.  It was a must have, "always" wear accessory until it wasn't.   I don't even own a watch anymore.  Ah, time. . .

Your reflections on time and choice hit home, Michael Jacobs. It's a thoughtful reminder that decisions carry both weight and wonder 🙂. I really appreciate the way you framed it, turning something so universal into a moment worth pausing for. Thanks for sharing such valuable perspective!

I wonder if time is the same in the alternate realities that quantum physicists are always discussing or maybe that is a way to slip through time.

Hi Michael- our best friend and our nemesis. We may think we're tricking time but not really. It keep going whether we go along or not. And, my observation is that the older we get the faster time moves.

Michael Jacobs - Omnipresent is such a fun word! We really ARE present everywhere at all times! Your AR Post reminded of a time long ago, when my friend Tammy asked me if I had time to spare during the day, when my kids were in grade school, to help her dad at the grocery store. He needed help and he would let me come to work after my kids were in school, and leave before 3:00 p.m., before the kids came home from school. I accepted.

One day, I was at the register when an old man came in with a walker. I asked him, if he needed any help. He looked at me, calling me a "whippersnapper," and said to me, Lady, I don't know you. I've been coming to this store since before you were born. I'm 88 years old and I am very capable of shopping by myself. As for my age, I want you to remember, age is like time, they are just about numbers. Now think about it. Age and Time are just about numbers. We can't control either.

Thanks for this great blog post - it was a time for remembrance about time and age.

Michael I stopped thinking about 'time' a long time ago.  No pun intended!  I realized that time was available everywhere so why did I need a watch anymore. Gone. And it's the same but even more so these days. I am happy for today, right now, commenting on your post and saying HI!  And that's no turkey 🦃😊
