Thankful For This Professional and Total Gentleman
When I began my home staging business and my journey at ActiveRain, I had no idea what I was doing. I joined local organizations such as the Women’s Council of Realtors, the Chamber of Commerce, and the local board of realtors. I began my daily journey on ActiveRain, reading, writing, and commenting.
Because home stagers work primarily on their own (at least that’s what we did then). I had no mentors or office mates to provide a roadmap, support, or tips.

Enter Lou Ludwig.
I used to read Lou’s daily motivational posts on ActiveRain. His first entry was on June 21, 2008, and his final one on December 13, 2017. It’s still hard to believe he’s no longer with us. His legacy was so strong—and his reach so wide—that people continue to reblog his posts even today.
Lou always wore a suit or sport coat, even in the hot, humid South Florida weather. I finally got to meet him at a Board of Realtors meeting. He encouraged me to continue blogging on ActiveRain. He also showed his support by commenting on my posts.
Schedule permitting, he was there to support the ActiveRain Meetups that Eileen Burns 954.483.3912 , the late, Don Urschalitz and I held. He was always there to answer questions and help agents, like Elyse Berman, PA .

When I first moved to Florida, I noticed how casually the agents were dressed. I saw agents in shorts, Tommy Bahama shirts, and deck shoes. Lou dressed with intention, presenting himself exactly as he wanted to be perceived.
It was a good reminder to me that even if it’s 90+ degrees out and my clients might be in shorts, I needed to dress like the professional they hired.
Lou’s continued support of not just me but others inspired me to do the same. Showing up, even if only figuratively, is something I’ve tried to continue thanks to his influence.

I consider myself blessed to have known him.
This is my third entry in the 2025 November Challenge.
