A Piece Of Your Mind.

First of all let me admit that I did not "get" this cartoon so I asked Timmothy, the creator, what was going on. In panels one and two is Titus and a mushy grape. In panel two Titus says he is going to give Joe a piece of his mind. In panel three Joe is looking at a piece of Titus's brain (mind) thinking it is the gum he threw away.

This cartoon would fit pretty well with a question that was posted yesterday about the fantasy of giving a snarky answer to a stupid request for an answer that would be obvious to anyone with a brain.

I mentioned once before a book that seriously corrupted my mind by the writers of MAD magazine called Snappy Answers To Stupid Questions". I was either in my teens or even earlier and I can say today parents should not allow this material into their home. Here is an example.

Humor is good, snarkiness has no place in the professionals life. I was snarky in my fantasy answer yesterday but thank God I've grown up since the days I read Mad Magazine. I consider myself lucky to have lived through those years and still have all my teeth today. I am proud of most of the answers to yesterday's questions (not mine) as they showed restraint even in a fantasy question. There are kind and adult people in Real Estate as proven by the answers in yesterdays question.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

No, actually, one is a hologram. I haven’t decided which one yet. They keep moving”

That is a great answer in today's world Carol Williams . I believe this book was published in the 60's and only a few Sci-Fi fans would know what a hologram was.

Hello Bob - I remember Mad magazine being "out there" (as available for sale as well as avant-garde for lack of a better term) when I was younger.  Since magazine stands are rarer and rarer these days, I wonder if it still exists.  Uh, oh - I see another rabbit hole opportunity.

I was thinking along the same lines Michael Jacobs as to how many magazines have disappeared with the advent of the internet.

Bob "RealMan" Timm - the biggest problem with people who are habitually snarky is they don't realize how damaging snarky is to others. There was a TX Real Estate Leader/Instruction/Professional Development lady who carried around a "Snarky Doll," whenever someone in class said something snarky, she'd toss the doll at them and that doll had to sit there in front of them to learn a lesson. Being snarky is not being professional. I was amazed at how often that doll was thrown at someone in class who was astonished to receive it. Being snarky is a very bad habit!

It is a bad habit indeed Patricia Feager and I can testify that it is a hard habit to break.

Good morning Bob. While I have never been snarky I have reached levels of sarcasm that border on the line of snarky. Enjoy your day.

Good morning, Bob... I never read MAD Magazine... it was not allowed in our house. Like Wayne Martin I can be sarcastic (but not to his level), but I've never been snarky. I wasn't raised in a home where that would have been allowed.

Over the years Nina Hollander, Broker it has been obvious to me that you were raised in a very wonderful home.

The question yesterday was just for fun so I provided what I thought was a snarky answer. I wouldn't ever do that in real life!

Same here Kat Palmiotti as it was obvious that the author of the question was looking for snarky answers.

Haha, am I correct in thinking that they ate the gum and thought it was a mushy grape?

That was my assumption too Brian England but we are wrong. I did post the explanation right under the comic strip.

I really appreciate the way you tied humor to a deeper point about professionalism, Bob "RealMan" Timm. It made the message stick 🙂. Thanks for sharing such thoughtful insight and reminding us that kindness and restraint carry more weight than snark ever could.
