Last week, we enjoyed an excellent painting class hosted by resident and teacher Sharon Kulik at the Delaire Landing Clubhouse. For just $30—including all supplies—it was the perfect opportunity for beginners and seasoned painters alike to tap into their creative side.
A Scenic River on Canvas
Our project for the day was a peaceful river scene, inspired by both Sharon’s reference painting and the beautiful view right outside the Clubhouse window. Sharon guided us step by step as we built our horizons with layers of yellows, oranges, whites, then blues and reds.
From there, our canvases came to life with clouds, trees, fencing, a lantern, rippling water, and the river’s horizon. Some participants added playful touches of their own—like seagulls and small boats—making each painting truly one of a kind.
A Room Full of Creativity and Joy
The class atmosphere was just as delightful as the artwork. Some of us laughed at ourselves, some were intensely focused, and everyone enjoyed the support provided by Sharon and her assistant as they walked the room, offering guidance.
By the end, every canvas was beautiful—and uniquely expressive.
Who knew we had so many talented artists at Delaire Landing?
All it took was a canvas, some paint, a few brushes, and a spark of inspiration.
Proud to Be Part of This Community
Living at Delaire Landing means being surrounded by friendship, camaraderie, and endless opportunities to get involved. Whether you enjoy Bingo, playing cards, Mahjong, Quizno, or exploring more creative classes, there’s always something to inspire you, and for this I am so grateful.
As someone who spends a lot of time helping people discover what “home” truly feels like, I’m especially grateful to be part of a community where connection, warmth, and creativity are woven into everyday life.
Special Thanks
A heartfelt thank-you to Lynn B. Friedman, CRS – Atlanta, GA (404-617-6375) for inspiring this blog as my entry in the November ActiveRain Challenge 2025.
