Motivational Monday…Let’s Give Each Other a Break
How often has this happened to you?
While trying to get out of the car without spilling your drink or dropping your phone, you are oblivious to the person next to you waiting for you to get out or shut the door so they can pull forward into the space.
At some point, the driver honks and you realize your oops moment and shut the door.
Or…vice versa…you’re the person waiting.

This happened to us this week. We were the offenders with our open door.
Depending upon our mood, when we find ourselves in that situation…we may say or think not-so-nice thoughts such as Hello..wake up or Anytime now…just sitting here waiting.
However, not this time. When Larry (ok, I just threw him under the bus) realized he was keeping the driver waiting after the honk, he apologized and quickly shut the door.

The icing on the cake this day was when the driver parked and got out, they came over and apologized for honking.
How often does that happen??
This reminded me of the importance of giving each other a break…the benefit of the doubt. We’re often so quick to judge someone’s actions. We jump to conclusions and are often wrong.
This is going on my list of skills to strengthen.
When you choose to see the good in others, you end up finding the good in yourself.
John Spence
The world would be a happier, more peaceful place if we all tried to understand instead of judging, paused before reacting, and gave each other the benefit of the doubt instead of assuming the worst.
