This week on our Zoom challenge, like the past few, you can get easy points by just turning up and if you do the homework, usually a post about the Zoom meeting subject there are extra points.
Last week I found the homework challenging, and decided t skip it as it was the Holiday week and there was much to do. However, this week Praful Thakkar was showing us how in Gemini you can edit a photo using prompts and how Gemini then uses NanaBanana to do make the edits.
Now if you have ever seen a listing in our area you know there is almost always a sunset or twilight photo. I kept thinking to myself surely they did not pay the photographer to come back at sundown to take one photo. Well most likely they did not.
Praful showed us several examples, taking a snow covered yard and having all the snow removed and replaced with grass. This made clear how explicit your prompts need to be, as it removed the driveway and replaced it with gras as it was covered with snow. It also did not remove the snow from the roof. So a couple of edits later he had what he wanted.
Taking a kitchen cluttered with boxes and full counters to a sleek ready for an open house view.
Then, he took an empty room and had it furnished by AI, again how explicit your prompt is will get you different results. Of course you can do the same in Chatgpt, but he was showing us Gemini and NanoBanana today.
I took a current listing photo, told Gemini which way the house faced and asked it to give me a sunset picture with appropriate lighting. This was my result.

The Gemini symbol is an indicator that this is AI generated and whilst you could crop it out, we were advised by Paddy Deighan MBA JD PhD that that would be an IP violation. Ethically you would also need to state that the photo has been adjusted with AI as well.
I had made one other example as well, here is the final attempt. My first attempt it gave me the home with a sunset and the light on the porch turned on but no other lights, so I asked it to put lights in the other windows. As you can see it also added lights to houses down the road as well.

Here was the original photo:

Pretty useful as long as you disclose the editing.
