Friday Fun…Decorations Up Yet?

Thanksgiving is but a little over a week old, and I feel as if I’ve fallen behind in decorating for Christmas. YIKES!

Bob "RealMan" Timm  wrote a post this week asking us if our Christmas tree had a theme. I knew from that post that I’d better get on the stick. My tabletop tree, fully decorated and stored in a closet, has only to be carried downstairs to its place of honor. However, I only set it up yesterday (Wednesday).

I have a little more to decorate, and then I’m done.

So for some Friday Fun…

Do you decorate for Christmas or the holidays?

Have you finished decorating??

If you have a Christmas tree, is it real or artificial?

I still have the beautiful table top tree that you sent me, but I am sorry to say that I won't even be putting it up this year, haha.

Probably not Kathy Streib just too lazy to get stuff out of the shed, especially since nobody really comes over to my house to see it, and it doesn't matter as much to me, haha.  The only thing that I feel somewhat obligated to set up is a Nativity.

Good Friday morning, Kathy. We do not have any Christmas decorations up. We do have a large selection of ornaments collected over the years.

Have a great day and an outstanding weekend.

I always do the outside lights first and have cut back on those as well with just the dwarf maples lit, with a small tree on the front stoop and a lit wreath as well.

The Christmas tree will be finished today so I can post an Ah hah blog

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 our friends who live up north usually put the outside lights up early before the bad weather sets in. Many neighbors how hire someone to put them. up.

You are very kind to mention me as being inspiring Kathy Streib 😇. We have three artificial trees set up this year. I don't remember the last time I had a real tree. I think we have two or three more trees we have accumulated over the year that are just waiting for the next rummage sale 🙄. You saw the one set up at home in the post you mentioned. The tree in the art gallery is a 3' tree with fiber optics and I also have a 4' tree in the entry to the business. That tree was decorated for Valentines Day several years ago and remains decorated in that manor all year long.

Bob "RealMan" Timm   we used to buy real trees until our dog went blind. We opted for a tabletop artificial tree after that.

No and it will probably be another week before we get it done.  We're never too early because it's such a busy time of the year.

Good morning, Kathy... I decorate for all the holidays and seasons, yes I do! I finished my Christmas decorating on Sunday when the tree went up. (Only one this year, instead of my usual two or three.) I haven't had a real tree in 30+ years. When I get to it, I'll send you a picture.

Nina Hollander, Broker I can't wait to see it. I have two funky ornaments from an "ugly" ornament exchange I went to several years ago. They're fun!!!

Kathy Streib my tree this year is all sparkly with gold and silver ornaments...looks great but doesn't translate well on a photo (but that's probably due to my lack of photographic skills). Tried taking the photo with and without lights on... don't see much of a difference.

Good morning, Kathy.
Only 3 more Fridays until Christmas, including today! Since I've been coming to AZ for the winter, I thoroughly enjoy seeing all the decorations others put up. It's very festive around here.

Carol Williams when we moved to FL for the first time, I couldn't imagine how Christmas would be with all that sun.  But everyone went all out on lights and the Boat Parades were always fun.

We will decorate this weekend. Our tree is artificial and each year requires some major construction work so that it stays standing due to Annie when she lived alone pushing it over so she could reach the top. Over the past few years I have developed a system using metal rods to brace and pipe clamps to hold everything in place.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 good thing you're handy!!!!   Mine isn't that tall so I place my extra ornaments on the table where it sits. I love all of my nutcrackers.

Artificial Tree!  I wish I did this years ago!  Saves $$.

I usually get the tree up the week after Thanksgiving, but this year I'm on vacation.

I decorate for Christmas.  New Year's Day, everything gets put away.

Kelly McGovern   I'm glad we went to an artificial tree. As much as I enjoyed decorating it, my small table top tree is easy to store.

I had the tree up and the decorating done the weekend before Thanksgiving. I LOVE having the tree up and don't look forward to taking it down. I swore I would never do anything but a real tree and every year loved choosing and cutting our trees.

Then a few years ago, while taking our tree down, we discovered that part of the tree skirt had dropped into the water and had been absorbing water and passing it on to the floor. The damage was not as bad as it could have been, but damage was done. That was it for me. I don't miss having to water a tree and I love that I can keep this one up as long as I want!

My decorating is mostly limited to the living room. I keep it pretty simple.

HI Sharon Tara    I thought Larry and I would miss a real tree but it's been easier with an artificial one. My decorating is limited to the dining room, entry and family room.

Kathy, I have really decorated for 3 years, as I go to AZ mid-December, and come back after Christmas.  This year I probably won't even put up my wreath.

Joan Cox I hear you. When we commuted between Orlando and Delray Beach,, we spent the weekends in Delray. I didn't do much decorating then.
