One of my clients has been searching for a new home. He loves his existing home, but a new adjacent neighbor is literally the “neighbor from Hades.”
Over the past six months, I have sent him numerous mailings, have had many phone, texts and emails communications. Yet, still no home.
This past week he found a home in the community of Meadview, AZ. Per the County Sheriff’s Office this community has the lowest crime rate of any community in Mohave County. The reason is the community is very tight knit. Neighbors help each other out. There is also a HOA with a community center and even a small putting green.
Also Meadview, AZ is quite close to Lake Mead (hence the name) that offers fishing and boating. Given my client likes to fish, this is a win-win for him.
We toured the home, the large garage/workshop and walked the one acre lot. The home needs some work. There are some questions still need to be answered before he considers making an offer. I gave my client some homework as in calling a local insurance company regarding insuring the home to speaking with a local mortgage lender.
When we were about to leave the property, my client wanted a picture of me. I personally dislike having photos taken, but I acquiesced to his request. Then he said these four words while taking my photo:
"You are my REALTOR®"
And added these also four even more coveted words
"Because I trust you."
Hearing this, my reaction this time and every time is to smile. We all know having clients that trust you is essential in any business because people buy from people they know and trust.
Now eight years young in this industry, 90%+ of my real estate practice is due to referrals. I do not buy sales leads. I do very little online marketing. Actually, this year I finally established my own business page on Facebook.
Yes, hearing these words as a professional real estate agent “You are my REALTOR®!” always brings a smile to me every time.
P.S. Please consider checking out my Facebook business page, The Grit and Gratitude Realtor, that will focus on the Dirt Roads in Mohave County as well local real estate, lots of dirt or vacant land parcels as some of the local attractions.
