By
Industry Observer DRE# ER40011786

City of Aurora has announced that recreation fees will increase as of 1/1/26.

All program and facility rental fees are increasing by 10% and in addition, the new rec center membership fee structure will also be changing.   These fees have been approved by the City Council in early 2025.   Adult members who use EZ Pay will see fee changes beginning Saturday, 1/1/26.

The Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Department is committed to providing high-quality facilities and programs that promote the health and well-being of the entire Aurora community.  Our goal is to ensure there is equitable access for all, while recognizing the importance of creating a fully sustainable future for the organization.

There are discounted offerings for eligible residents -

With every full-price adult membership, an adult or multiple youth memberships from the same household can be added for 50% off the listed price.

Senior discounts -

SilverSneakers - a free fitness program that is available for individuals 55+ who have Medicare Part B, as well as membership with select supplemental health care plans.

Renew Active by United Healthcare - eligible members can gain access to our recreation centers for free.

Teens during School Breaks -

We Are Aurora Youth is a program designed to give the youth ages 13-18 of Aurora a fun and safe place to hang out during school breaks.   Youths can receive free entry to a designated recreation center on weekdays from noon to 7 pm.   They will be able to participate in staff-led activities such as basketball, volleyball, flag football, esports, gift card competitions, and other activities.

From noon to 4 pm, the designated recreation center will have free meals for youth provided by Aurora Public Schools during the We are Aurora Youth Program.

Good morning, Joan... somehow these days I'm not surprised to see prices for things like this going up. My co-pay with United Healthcare just increased from $30 to $40. Fortunately, I rarely see doctors and my basic plan with them is free. At least my HOA fees have not increased in 2026... not that they were all that high to start with but every bit helps.

Good morning Joan. Ten percent is not bad for the services offered. And, they have many discount programs to ease the perceived pain. As we enter the third year in our home we just received our second neighborhood HOA and master HOA dues increases. Enjoy your day.

Good morning Joan,

I'm sure it was time to raise some of those fees. They offer lots of services so still looks like a bargain.
