Friday Fun…Christmas Cards and Other Traditions
Nina Hollander, Broker wrote a post on National Christmas Card Day. It’s interesting, and she includes a video of how the tradition of sending Christmas cards came about.
It made me think about the traditions and fun things we carry with us through the years. Some stay with us, some morph, and some disappear.

For example, I used to send out Christmas cards. But as Kat Palmiotti said in her comment, it became too much of a chore for me. That said, I do appreciate those cards I receive, especially my cousin’s. Her husband is a professional photographer, and every year we receive the cutest Christmas card with a staged family photo.
What about other Christmas traditions we have and continue, or have stopped?
One of our favorite traditions is taking one night to drive around looking at Christmas lights. When we were in FL, we’d go with our good friends or take their daughters with us and give their parents a night off! We’d always have a thermos of hot chocolate.
Some traditions we left behind in Delray Beach, such as attending the annual Christmas Parade and visiting the 100-foot-high Christmas tree.

A tradition we brought with us from FL was Santa. He makes an appearance on Christmas Day at Casa Streib. In FL, Santa came by on Christmas Eve when we were out at dinner, or once at our home.

So, for some Friday Fun…do you still (if you ever did) send out Christmas cards to friends and family (not business)?
What Christmas traditions do you still have?
What have you thrown out the door?3
