My "aha" Moment in 2025
As we enter new seasons in our life, we make choices that add value or remain stagnant. When choosing the life of entrepreneur, one must have a plan and then work the plan.
2025 was no different for me. I was wrapping up my chapter of listing and selling vintage condos here in metro Fort Lauderdale FL and then deciding whether I should retire or not.
With 37 years on the books, I asked myself if I am ready to retire or do I have a greater purpose?
What's next? Certainly, vintage condos were off my hit list. I enjoy selling waterfront residential properties. I enjoy selling hotels, apartment buildings, and probate disposition.
I am healthy and still enjoy engaging with people in all walks of life. Renewing my real estate license was also on the horizon.
What to do I pondered for several months. It became clear to me; I was bored to tears staying home.
One day an email popped into my inbox inviting me to a broker open for 7 vertical condo towers breaking ground in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I was astounded to hear all these projects had already been approved.
Curious person that I am, I participated and learned what luxury looks like in the next 3 to 5 years. 40 brokers attended this all day event. I connected with one particular agent who had the same lightbulb moment as me.
Together we are planning 1st quarter 2026 to niche a Broker 2 Broker Referral network. I hail from the NYC market, and my counterpart hails from Chicago. We will communicate with luxury brokers who have established relationships with millionaire buyers who are relocating to metro Fort Lauderdale. We will pay them a 25% referral fee and handle the transaction live and in person over the next 3 years. How would you like to receive $20,000+ compensation for a minimum $1.5MM purchase?

I renewed my real estate license and transitioned to Douglas Elliman, a luxury brand since 1911. DE is handling 30 new construction towers Tri county: Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach. DE has also gone global as we now have a presence in France.
