How Long Does It Take to Return a Call?

As Real estate professionals, dependent on a transaction in order to pay bills, each call we make should be treated as though it were gold. I would always try to return a call within a reasonable amount of tie, and if it took longer that 2 hours, would have a good explanation to the contact.

So, if it took a few years, what night the reason have been?

Well, some years back, after reading a blog post by Patricia Feager , I picked up the phone and let my fingers do the walking. I left what I thought was an innocent and friendly message but didn't get a call back.

I can exaggerate and say waited and waited but I won't.

I figured she must be really busy or maybe washing her hair and just can't, or could it be, wouldn't want to talk to me?  Oh well, so much for being friendly!

 

Well, I made a very innocent comment to one of her posts and within minutes my phone rang, with a non-spam call from Texas.

Patricia Feager  wanted to spend a few moments and as it was too cold for me to be anywhere but inside, I was more than happy to chat.

It was a very friendly call, and as we were chatting we presumed to have been stopped for speeding by the same cop in Illinois, maybe just a bit apart.

We discussed all manner of topics and may even have touched on a few bits of real estate. Can't really remember but I do know that when she gets to laughing, she has a very happy giggle.

Any time talking to people that we see online and with Patricia n the Zoom calls, are fun.

She may have taken her time to return the call but in the end, all was good.

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 - It was so much fun talking to you over the air waves yesterday prior to Zoom. I felt like positive energy was bouncing back and forth between Connecticut and Texas! We had a lot in common - including good humor! It is very possible we had the same Police Officer pull us over in Southern, IL - after all, that is where the Corporate Headquarters and Training Facilities for Illinois Police are located. They get you just before you cross the state line. 

I could tell, you have a happy house as I was on Speaker Phone and your wife and I could hear each other. Together, we laughed and enjoyed catching up on our phone conversation. Both of you radiate JOY! 

It was GREAT talking to you!

Patricia Feager   I was surprised at how quickly you responded to a comment when you ignored a direct call way back. I just presumed at the time that you were wary of a call from out of the blue.

Yes, we laughed a lot, and I use the speaker as I multitask when home it was a natural reaction.

When talking to a woman, it is especially important as it saves me a lot of explaining when off the phone as to the who, why and how often.

Yes, it as a fun call, even if I didn't recognize any of the street names where you lived.

Ther ws a time early on and most likely why I called originally, when the Ambassadors were encouraged to reach out to members to chat, try to answer any questions they may have and encourage them to be more consistent and active as well. The most famous call person is, however, Margaret Rome Baltimore 410-530-2400 .

At the very least, the call served to remind you of the Zoom call that started not long after we finished the call.

Patricia and I had quite the conversation and lots of laughs last week while I was stuck in traffic driving home from an appointment. As useful as texts may be to go back and forth with someone, there's nothing quite like a "real" conversation in person or on the phone.

Nina Hollander, Broker   The thing I find most common is we have one way to talk to clients when they first call or upon first meeting, and yet with a member of ActiveRain, it is completely different as though we are talking to longtime friends.  Not unlike walking into a coffee shop in some town and sitting down to chat with a member over a cup.

Old Chicago connections are always filled with great stories that most likely will never exist again.

I'm glad you both were able to touch base! I can remember one ActiveRainer I left a message for who did not call me back but I just assumed she was busy and forgot. And it wasn't important enough to call again, so it's all good!

Kat Palmiotti - Before I purchased my first iPhone, I had tried other cell phones. The reason why I switched was because I was missing too many calls. There was no name or number that came up on my screen, and I never knew people were calling me. The iPhone made all the difference!

I hope I wasn't the person you called and left a message who didn't return your call!

It sounds like the return call was well worth the wait, haha.  If someone doesn't return my call within 24 hours, it makes me wonder what is going on, and sometimes, perhaps they didn't even get the message that was left.

Brian England   she explained it away that she had 3 phones and just didn't have enough hours in the day to return all the call.

Also, it could have been that rare occasion when I actually had a client that wanted my attention.
