Historic Savage Mill has long been a favorite of mine, especially at this time of the year. Walking into Yuletide at Savage Mill feels like stepping straight into a holiday storybook. The historic mill, with its brick walls, rich wood staircases, and timeless character, flows with festive decor and twinkling lights that wrap this Howard County landmark in seasonal charm.
Yuletide runs daily through December, with shops open from 10 AM to 6 PM. Strolling through the decorated halls, you'll find local artisans, unique gifts, antique treasures, and cozy corners that make holiday shopping feel less like a chore and more like a tradition. You can also book a time slot to craft your own pottery, candle, or jewelry, and support a great cause at Charity's Closet & Success in Style!
And then there's the Bollman Bridge, newly refinished. Crossing it at night, lit up in all its holiday glory, makes it feel like a gateway into the season's magic.
Beyond the lights, Yuletide at Savage Mill offers live music, visits with Santa (last chance this weekend from 10 to 3), and festive gatherings that bring the community together. Whether you are here for the shopping, the history, or simply to soak in the atmosphere, Savage Mill feels both timeless and personal. It's a wonderful place to visit year-round, but especially at this time of the year.
P.S. Savage Mill is also home to one of my favorite local coffee shops, Roggenart!
