Back in 1976, a uncle of mine from Estes Park, gave me a book that change my life, it was a book by Robert H. Schuller, It it's going to be, It's up to me! That book had eight proven principles of Possibility Thinking. With that book I learn so much and started applying it to me and it help me so much.
In working for a restaurant chain, I became a training manager, supervisor and then Regional Manager for Colorado and Utah area. Funny what a book can change the way we think and do and helps us get to where we want to be.
It did not stop there, I get transfer to New York state and handle the Western park of New York state and Western Pennsylvania also. With that came a new focus with the problem that I came to have. I always wanted to help people move up and take my place sometime. I always was a teacher and worked lots of nights with Assistant Manager as I knew that the the good group of people that someday would be General Manager. I gave all General Manager three chances to get better but after the third time if they did not come around, they could be gone. Someone said to me, "They are there to make my job easier." I have to say I learn from that.
The company was sold and all the Regional Manager were concern about what was the happening. The new owner cut all our marketing and switch thinks up, I got moved to Ohio and Wisconsin. They fired a friend Regional Manager and I replace two of them. After three months I turn things around and sales where going up and two people took my place a year late and I became V.P. of Operation. Thank You Robert H. Schuller.
This is my second entry for Lew and Patricia contest.
